Pros

The only pro I have about this company is the pay. It's decent.

Cons

I left a full time, full benefit job to finally get my foot in the door at Humana as a Limited Term Associate. This is possibly the worst mistake I have ever made in my adult life. I have heard all these wonderful things about this company for years and I have wanted to be a part of it for many years, I finally get it and it is quite possibly the biggest let down ever. I felt very misled since day 1.... I interviewed with intentions that the job was full time, permanent, when I got there I was informed that it was limited term (Strike 1), I accepted the job anyway because it seemed promising and they said I'd be hired on in no time. From the very first day in the training class, I felt like I was sitting in a slow (at best) high school class. Everyone was so disrespectful, people slept in class, people missed all the time...and they had a "ABSOLUTELY NO OCCURENCE POLICY", don't worry about that, they will let people get away with anything. I suffered through that 3 weeks of training with promises that once we got on the floor, it would be better. It was anything but. It was a very strict, micromanaging call center, which I also wasn't made aware of when accepting the jobs. You literally would get in trouble for standing up, using the restroom, or even clocking in 1 minute early. This place was insane. The management for the most part, had absolutely no personality, they seemed very unwilling to help. They literally threw us to the wolves when they put us on the phones. Our training was very minimal and even after 7 weeks of employment, I was very unsure what I was doing 75% of the time. It was a very helpless feeling. As far as your schedule, they clearly play "favorites", I was stuck with the 9-6 schedule...Okay fine, I'll suck it up...but the thing is, you NEVER got off at 6:00pm, you could not leave that hell hole until every single call was answered. Do you have kids you have to pick up for prior engagements you committed to? TOO BAD! I honestly felt like I was in prison there. I had enough and quit. Now, here I am unemployed. Probably not the wisest career choice but I could not sit there and take it for one more moment. DO NOT QUIT YOUR JOB to work here.... I'm warning you now!

Pros

Flexible shift schedule if you can maintain changing standards that have to be met to qualify; work at home remote and no phone calls for the screening RPhs

Cons

This applies to all 4 pharmacy sites in Arizona, Texas, Ohio, and Florida: standards change constantly for what is accepted rate for production and missing errors (from MD office, tech entry, etc). Everything is about rate, rate, rate, yet you get majorly dinged for quality. Which of course we all want 100% perfect Rxs and no errors, but the rate continues to climb as RPhs practically just click the mouse to move an rx, taking safety shortcuts which are risky, and playing fast and loose with professional judgment allowances. These were not as allowed prior to Amazon, but once you have a company like that competing with you, patients expect everything in 24 hours and we're left to hang if we don't go faster and faster and stop worrying about what the MD actually wanted for example. You are penalized for questioning anything you think is wrong. Certain RPhs get picked to judge if your reasoning for clarifying is sound or not. Doctor leaves out directions frequency, just make it up, that's fine. No, that's prescribing and that's illegal. The Boards of Pharmacy and Medicine might want to look into this. I know one state did about 5 years ago due to an anonymous tip from a colleague.
