Pros

- The blackstone acqusition. Yes, that's right. So far they've gotten rid of a lot of deadweight. A SVP with no direct reports. Yea, that was a good idea! - Most groups are laid back yet still deliver. - It's the best IT shop in town all things considered. AutoZone? IT cesspit. FedEx? Bureaucratic nightmare.

Cons

- Ad hoc is the name of the game. No standards, at all, anywhere. That means no coding standards, technology standards, process standards, interface standards. None, at all. It's not uncommon to have a single department maintain multiple systems that do the same thing. - Every director and higher (save about 2) is clueless about technology. That's not necessarily bad in and of itself, but they think that they know what they're doing and make decisions based upon that false sense of expertise. That's the bad part!

Pros

Great staff and lowermanagement. Last general manager was unfriendly and not very helpful.

Cons

I was supposed to get long tenure status for lifetime friends of family with my veteran status. Worked at Hilton 9+ years. Supposed to get 1 year for my veteran status (according to the handbook at that time) which would make 10 years. HR supposedly turned in application in August 2024. I even followed up and was told they were working it. It's been almost 2 years and haven't heard anything yet. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Guess I won't be staying at Hilton Hotels.
