Pros

Bagels and Donuts once a week are now a permanent benefit rather then a bonus

Cons

Poor leadership at the top. Employees are poorly trained and are not informed of major changes to policy and procedures. Most changes come down in the form of an email and askign questions is frowned at. Management is reactive not proactive which i found to be inefficient and frustrating. Pay is low therefore the company does not retain true talent for long. Promotions are rare and never out of cycle regardless of who just left or what needs the department has to be filled. You basically do the job that you want to be promoted to for a year and then maybe they will promote you. Turn over is big. Workload is unreasonable due to low staffing, and ineffective managers. Bringing issues up is discouraged. No career path defined for employees. Lower managers are cowards and are afraid to stand up to the upper managers. Product development is mostly offshore and the company invests very little in keeping products up to date with current technology. The sales people sell product features that don't exist as they are highly pressured to make an unreachable quota. CEO only cares about the bottom line stock price at the end of the day and will not reward great behavior but will spend 1 hour or more quarterly yelling and swearling at sales for not selling his junky products. In essence we are hiring and in need of new blood....employee beware. Make sure you negotiate for the higher position and salary if possible when joining Websense because you will be there for a long long time.

To see the evolution of Forcepoint over the last few years has been impressive. We continue to grow and invest in our company and people. I feel as if I make an impact in the company and always feel appreciated. Forcepoint is a great place to excel. Our CEO personally cares about the success of the people and company.

Cons

Fast paced environment, strategy changes as the market changes. fun but can be hard for some.

Pros

Remote friendly. Good culture depending on the team.

Cons

I am making $185k total comp as a basic Marketing Manager. Not even a 'Senior' Manager, but just your basic peasant-class Manager. How can I be making as much money (or more) than some of the Forcepoint staff lawyers, more money than some junior-level medical doctors, but my job title is equivalent to that of some recent college grad? This matters because my job is Director-level in everything but title only. All my KPI's, performance reviews, and work, is at the Director level. But because I am a basic manager, some of my peers treat me as if I am 23 years old making $70k/yr with bare bones KPI's. This creates an awkward situation because I am paid more than many colleagues who have more senior job titles than me. But since we do not openly discuss salary, my peers do not know this and think my KPI's are basic, when really I have much higher KPIs than colleagues with more senior job titles It is silly that some peers are making 20-30% less than me, but have more senior job titles just because of tenure - which is a meaningless indicator of performance.
