Pros

I love the job because the communication between the supervisors on the dock and the dockworkers is a vital part of the job, which really makes the job run. Also, the side benefits is a good 401K, good health benefits, get holidays off, and good pay.

Cons

Things I don't enjoy about the job are 1) the relationship between upper management and dockerworkers isn't strong to most of the dockerworkers, and 2) the climate brings in extreme cold and extreme heat in the respective seasons.

Pros

- Insurance benefits are offered to part time employees - Pay is sufficient based on being part time - Management will send some communications regarding big picture matters - There is some leniency regarding calling out of work

Cons

- The requirement to maintain insurance is becoming more difficult - Employees are not paid the same rate simply based on tenor rather than qualifications - Management will rarely, if ever, address direct employee concerns - Leniency for calling out only seems to apply for certain employees - There is no standard of training or written expectations readily available once hired
