Pros

Ability to work from home, which means I do save some money on work clothes and gas. Eight hours of paid time off every two weeks. Being able to set my own schedule and work four 10 hour days.

Cons

Having to use my own PTO for holidays when the office is closed or I would have been off anyway. Not receiving a pay raise or review since I started working for this company in January 2012. The excuse that was given by my immediate manager and the manager above her is a corporate “raise freeze” over which they have no control. While I am sure that aren’t lying about it being out of their control, the raise freeze is complete non-sense. I don’t feel valued as an employee. Additionally, I started receiving incoming member calls just under two months ago (I am assigned to employment verifications for COB only currently). I emailed my boss about this, confused as to why I was receiving member calls and was told “For business purposes and phone coverage you have been added to the list to receive incoming calls”. This was done without my knowledge beforehand and because they had been losing a lot of calls or having members on hold for extended amounts of time, it will likely continue for the foreseeable future. So to recap: I have never gotten a raise or review and have had to handle incoming calls from members in addition my own work load with no extra pay. Some of said calls are transferred to me by call center reps with incomplete information, which means I then have to take extra time and fish for information from someone who is already suspicious of us and then gather information if I am lucky enough to be able to locate the person in our database. This is extremely frustrating for me and makes me look stupid.

Pros

Job as described. This company is a contracting company pretty much and through them I was working for Humana. It was straight forward and as described, but the training Humana provided was a bit hectic and intense, and people were quitting left and right because of how much anxiety it caused.

Cons

High anxiety training environment that felt like we weren't fully equipped to do the job. Not having the freedom to get up and away from your desk unless you were specifically on a break. Automatic answering phones.
