Pros

Not a Toronto commute A few times a year you get a free lunch

Cons

Low pay for most positions across the board, not just entry level Terrible work life balance, you're expected to be " on call" after hours and on weekends but the pay doesn't match the work. They don't give you back anything you work over 44 hours and the salary positions are not "exempt" from that under Ontario employment law, so they're breaking that Some management for some areas is in the US, they try to apply US employment laws to Canadians Diversity training is a joke, which leads to some uncomfortable situations for minorities of all kinds Health and Safety is ignored on a regular basis, out of date fire extinguishers, other missing pieces required by law for health and safety regulations Pay for some departments is missed. You have to pay people if you expect them to work Empty promises made to get people to move to new roles, then they never follow through Downright rude management (I used to be in leadership positions, it frustrated me then, too, to see so many rude "leaders", and there wasn't enough of me to go around to help fix it) Will ask employees to lie to clients, I've been asked multiple times to do so over the past 8 years, I have started to refuse so my time with the company is probably limited Very little notice on request to travel, they think nothing of asking you four days ahead of time to travel to another country and it's not an emergency. This is unacceptable, people have lives, families and plans. I've been asked to travel on holidays and had to push to get the time back, I've been stranded in airports with no corporate tools to even get a room (or if I did, no guarantee the company would reimburse me) and then expected to work the next day when I arrived in the afternoon after being up for 24+ hours in an airport. Some people are promoted based on social skill and not actual ability. If you look "corporate" and good in a tie, you will go far. If you don't, you won't get much further than entry level or one step up Complete disorganization at the upper management/leadership level in my department. We've lost multiple contracts over the year and the one new one that has come in lately has been completely botched due to leadership disinterest until the new contract went sideways. This is unacceptable. Lack of communication, you find out about changes that directly affect you days later, after everyone else is told. Those affected by new work assignments should be told first, by email if a phone call isn't an option due to schedules, but never through the rumor mill or as a "surprise" on a call with a client.

Pros

A lot of great people with tremendous learning opportunities. My program is 24x7 so if willing to work nights and weekends, you can earn a higher rate of pay. Never boring and a lot to learn which works well for me!

Cons

Things can be very fast paced. Some people feel overwhelmed because there is a lot to learn.

Pros

The people and team leads are nice for where I work.

Cons

For a new contract no one really knows a lot about the retailer. We are told one thing in training now other people coming in are told something else. The benefits are strange. They have medical dental and vision. But, they have no sick time at all? No vacation the pto is accrued which is fine but let’s say you need to see a doctor you can’t use it because you have to put in 2 weeks in advance? You get points for anything and everything under the sun? That I don’t understand. I worked through the years for a lot of companies and third party retailers and it was never like that. I just think no federal holiday time off is not so good especially if it’s a religious kind of holiday a family holiday.
