Pros
I enjoyed working there for 24 years. I had some really good bosses, the projects were interesting, and the processes seemed a little heavy, but they produced a good quality product because of those extra checks.
Cons
Benefits are laughable, especially at the lower ranks. Senior management ignores the rank and file. Collins was sold to UTC and then our CEO bailed to another executive position and a big pay out. Called the GPS division a "crown jewel" and sold that off. Went from a great medium sized aerospace company, to just another listing in some conglomerates portfolio. 5, 10, 15 years ago... a solid 5 stars. Now.... I can't recommend it anymore. Oh, and don't expect big compensation. Cost of living is low in Cedar Rapids, and the salaries reflect it.
