Pros

Good for freshers / early career Strong onboarding and training programs help you build a foundation in tech. Learning opportunities Exposure to tools like Oracle PL/SQL, support projects, and sometimes banking/payments domains. Work-life balance (in many projects) Compared to some IT companies, many teams have manageable workloads. Brand value Having Cognizant on your resume helps when switching jobs. Global exposure Chance to work with international clients and enterprise systems.

Cons

Low salary growth Hikes can be slow compared to market standards. Project dependency (“luck factor”) Your experience depends heavily on which project you’re assigned to. Limited role flexibility You might get stuck in support roles instead of development. Bench time uncertainty If not allocated, there can be pressure or uncertainty. Management varies a lot Some teams are great, others not—no consistency.

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
