Pros

Decent pay, good work life balance, good work culture except chennai offices Good place to work for women as they have good policies on avoiding sexual harassment.

Cons

No growth and development in Chennai offices Bad work culture here unlike in USA They always run after the hours rather than focussing on employee growth and development, no timely promotions.. Oppurtunities are given to only Tamilians, No diversity no inclusion...if you are a non tamilian you should forget about you career growth Managers and supervisors uplift their sub ordinates only those who worship them as gods and does personal favours......like get food for them, pay bills for them, give gifts, This is definitely not a place if you are ambitious... People who still work here are those who are either not ambitious or lack in skills that outside market wants, few members are exceptional though. Currently Cat is going throught rough case until 2018, but this is not uncommon to US over past several years. Managers at chennai offices does emotional blackmail their subordinates ....Cat never sponsers H1B visas, they sponsor only L1B , H3 and J1 visas, onsite travels are limited to only 1 year even though project requires us to be there which is pathetic, and they give those only their Tamil pets which is disasterous . You are very lucky if you get a promotion under 3years. Interal depart movements are just for a name sake and never happened transparently. So please do not expect that job change within CAT is as easy as possible , this is true especially in India that too in chennai.

Pros

Good health insurance and benefits, good yearly bonuses. The pay is good.

Cons

They are enforcing returning to office by any means necessary. They have lost many high-quality producers who have refused to relocate or refuse to come in. Here's the kicker - they are requiring in-person attendance at the Chicago office and there aren't even enough desks for everyone. It would be a literal fire hazard if we all came into the Chicago office at the same time, M-F, during business hours. No one knows how or if they are going to actually enforce this. Cost of gas is insane, Joe doesn't care about the workers. Or the work for that matter. It's obvious this is a soft layoff, they have made a bunch of people quit. Their internal design agency is falling apart, lots of people have quit, not only because of return to office but because of the toxic politics, favoritism, and lack of direction and accountability. Mediocre workers are allowed to keep their jobs ONLY because of their ability to put their bodies in a chair and work in-person. The other relocation option HR gave besides Chicago was Peoria. No one wants to live in Peoria for any reason whatsoever, be for real.
