Pros
If you're lucky to be in growing BU like Cisco you may find yourself growing technically as well. In all other places you will do just what crap mgt has as projects. Some very good folks from Hughes are still there accompanied by lots of rusted folks from that era too.
Cons
E5/6 technical lot don't believe in managing people which is hurting the bottom like ne as more senior folks reqd to run the show hence low profits. Salaries need big time overhaul but first there is need of shunting out rusted lot who management just carries along as there assistants.
