Pros
You work on some great projects and with some talented people. Brand is well recognised and respected. Looks good on the CV. In house training is excellent. Grad programme first class.
Cons
Realised that all the training opportunities, mentoring etc was linked to generating more and more revenue with continually increasing targets. Started as a great place to work but work life balance has changed considerably. Was regularly in at 7.30am and not leaving before 7pm - almost the norm. With little recognition. Continues to operate in silos despite considerable effort to change. If clients can scratch the external veneer they'd find it wasn't quite as harmonious beneath. Tendency to ignore organic growth bringing senior people in from outside, on significantly higher packages then those who have shown continued commitment, stifling promotion and opportunities at Senior Surveyor, Associate and Director levels. Regularly promote early to boost revenue, and to keep someone they expect will leave otherwise. This sets people up to struggle and fail. Mediocre package compared to market. Don't expect good pay rises even after a good year or on promotion. Always seem to be reorganising - never to benefit staff despite what they say it's to make more money to send to the US or for senior management bonuses (especially all the appointees made above)
