Pros
Benefits and package is good
Cons
Extremely poor, toxic and Chinese work culture. If you are not from China (even if you are ethnic Chinese), opportunities will be very, very limited. Although they introduce D&I or “English language proficiency” measures, these are all facades to pat their own backs on “successful improvements. In reality, documents/meetings are in mandarin and stakeholders will refuse to collaborate if you communicate with English. To further add on, China counterparts from Shanghai or Beijing offices will frequently be airdropped via internal transfer to key senior roles, while local talents will be replaced through “silent firing” (i.e. deliberate ostracism, refusal to use English for collaboration, territorial behavior through snatching work portfolios). A quick check across majority of the other business units and departments also revealed similar behaviors, where locals are usually mass hired and blatantly replaced by Chinese counterparts later on. All the comments left on Glassdoor is extremely true. Avoid at all cost unless you want to bump your package.
