Pros

Flexibility is decent with 2 days in office compared to 3+ for others, Whippany campus is modern. You can be exposed to a wide variety of technology. Good opportunities to migrate to other countries as well as Barclays has a global footprint.

Cons

Sudden layoffs are common. Senior people laid off while cheaper employees remain. Pay is below expectation and bonuses are spartan. I made more going somewhere else and my new employer isn’t even a bank. Whippany campus is nice but it is overcrowded. If you’re not in the right clique you’ll get thrown under the bus and possibly selected for layoffs. Lots of scandals and just plain screw ups including a past CEO who had ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Pros

Can’t think of 1. Not even 1.

Cons

Pay is the lowest compared to similar company with the same role. Upper management speaks to staff with a patronizing tone; cutting them off, and talking down to them. At times it felt like they purposefully were attempting to find things wrong instead of working together as a team to meet objectives. Understaffed. Fully expected to do the work of a team of 6 despite being a team of 2 for example.
