Pros

There are some fantastic people in BT. It has a long history and a fierce loyalty in its people when in a crisis; Strong long term ambitions; innovation and financial focus.

Cons

Work life balance varies wildly across the lines of business, some areas have expectations of total commitment (60hrs+). Focus on in-year cost savings prevents business growth and reduces customer satisfaction through understaffed services. Appalling recent history of forced performance management curves, managed exits and treating people as numbers not assets. Continual internal requests for paid voluntary leavers with no back fill is exposing service inefficiencies to customers.

Pros

Benefits are better than most US companies. You get twice or triple the numbers of days off per year.

Cons

Focus is more on originating company location for group events and emails. Due to time zone differences, it can be difficult to work with others without adjusting your schedule. It is difficult to get promoted outside originating country. Roles are few and far between in the US.
