Pros

Having previously worked for other large Corporate companies in the Financial Services sector, Amex was a natural choice for me. The brand is one you recognise and would associate with a great place to work.

Cons

My concern is that if you are a fairly new member of staff and have not worked their for over 10 years, the opportunities to develop seen to be very limited, if you don't know the recruiting manager of any open position. It does seen to be about who you know. Some open positions are advertised internally, however you may not get a look in, as they have already been lined up for someone specific. Recruitment and Selection process is bias.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
