Pros

I have been working at Elsevier for more than 14 years, and it has truly been a rewarding and enriching experience. From day one, I was impressed by the company’s dedication to business excellence, employee development, and customer focus. The commitment to quality and a forward-thinking approach makes it an inspiring place to work. The team here is exceptional. Everyone is collaborative, supportive, and genuinely committed to shared goals. The culture promotes inclusivity, psychological safety, open communication, and respect, making it a place where ideas are welcomed, and contributions are valued. I am consistently motivated by the passion and dedication of my colleagues and the leadership team. One of the standout aspects of Elsevier is its investment in professional growth. There are numerous opportunities for learning and development, with regular training sessions, mentorship programs, and chances to take on new challenges. This focus on growth has been invaluable for my career. Management is transparent, approachable, and genuinely invested in employees’ success. They actively seek feedback and are open to new ideas, which helps create a positive and empowering work environment. Work-life balance is also highly valued, with flexible policies that make balancing personal and professional life easier. Additionally, Elsevier offers a range of excellent benefits including wellness programs, hybrid work options. The company also actively participates in community initiatives, and it’s fulfilling to work for an organization that prioritizes giving back. Overall, Elsevier is a fantastic place to build a career. The positive, dynamic atmosphere and the opportunities for growth make it a standout workplace. I am proud to be part of this team and look forward to seeing the company continue to grow and thrive.

Pros

Our current CEO drives, through her leaders, a culture of empathy, curiosity and an honest desire to improve outcomes for our customers. It makes it easy to come to work every day when you can truly believe the work you are doing has meaning.

Cons

Large old companies can be slow moving ships sometimes. We are in a period of rapid change and we are working on improving the speed of innovation, but it takes time to build that muscle and it hasn't hit all parts of the organization yet.
