Pros

Early on the company was positive cooperative environment. Pleasure to work with the clients. Pay was competitive and the benefits and PTO were generous. Great location on Harbour Island. Decent severance package

Cons

Poor management Non existent people management Severe favortism and nepotism from management Gossipy and clicky co workers No integrity from upper management Egotistical and arrogant management Little to no respect for people not in management positions No growth opportunities unless you are friends and ave alliances with the right people When I started the position many years ago the company was a much better place to work. As time passed and the office became more and more Elsevier the atmosphere, and vibe of the office changed for the worse. Job titles changed and so did managers for our department. My team and I were lied to repeatedly about our job security until they eventually laid off our group.

Pros

Elsevier is a very old established company so you do not need to worry about them going out of business. They have a good training program available if you choose to participate. The work week is only 35 hours and they encourage you to schedule your work week so you do not have to work Friday afternoon.

Cons

No clear direction, frequently pass over internal employees for outsiders. Benefits are severely downgraded. Only a high deductible insurance plan is available. Disorganization at mid manager level is pervasive and the company is very siloed.
