Pros

Lots of good people in the ranks of the company. Good overall vision and strategy.

Cons

Culture is very focused on churning out hundreds of strategy presentations in ever increasing granularity. Year on year there is a need to produce new ideas, but in the end little investment is forthcoming and most are scrapped. Repeated sales re-organisations have led to a lack of continuity and ability to sell our more complex product offerings. In eCommerce and marketing we lag sorely behind competition. The second layer of management under Mobed is shaky at best and under confident.

Pros

The people at Elsevier are amazing. The holiday schedule and vacation time is very generous.

Cons

I do not feel like I have worked at Elsevier long enough to list any cons. I would really enjoy the opportunity to work from home more frequently.
