Too Focused on Bottom Line

Pros

There were some amazing people who worked for Elsevier and they sign some pretty incredible books.

Cons

There's a huge focus on the bottom line: Everything needs to be done faster and cheaper, at the expense of quality. Those loyal to Elsevier as a brand will become fed up when the quality of the products decreases too much. If you end up with subpar material, akin to what you could find for free online, what's the point? Also, too many meetings and too little care for/consideration of their people.
