Pros

Elsevier likes to try to keep up with advances in publishing technology. I much appreciate, as an editor, that although the company is huge I can get tech help via chat.

Cons

Because Elsevier is so big, it can be very impersonal, and there can be holes and/or overlap between the many roles that employees fill. The future of big for-profit academic publishers is a bit in question right now, too, for a number of reasons.

Pros

You get to work 4 days from home. It is an MNC. It gives you benefits like company owned iphones and other things.

Cons

You have to travel for work one day every week. No flexibility. Too much pressure. Too much work compared to what you are paid. You will end up working more than 12 hours a day to meet deadlines. Remote work is not an option. Work hours are crazy and crazy rules of early morning shift for wfo.
