Pros

Large organization with decent benefits.

Cons

I worked at Elsevier for 4 years and had four different managers. Every year and sometimes every six months there were changes and reorgs. No real sense of loyalty to employees. The bottom line is all that matters.

Pros

Flexible working hours, enjoy most of my colleagues very much

Cons

The annual raises are really terrible and it's incredibly hard to progress in your career when you start out young there.

Pros

Brand name of company and journal prestige, nice people, new offices, great content

Cons

Terrible pay for london, very stingy company and benefits for the low ranks, inflexible and old fashioned publishing models, bureaucratic, too many managers, very british and non international hiring and promotions, ratrace for too many qualified editors but few positions
