Pros

A lot of great people for sure and good pay if you fight for it. Overall, your typical corporate space.

Cons

- **Culture:** The company culture often reflected a "boys' club" mentality, particularly within the trade show environment. These events, while intended to drive business opportunities, often resulted in excessive spending with minimal ROI. Instead, they were frequently used as opportunities for personal indulgence, particularly with alcohol, rather than fostering professional development. - **Layoff and Severance:** My layoff, which stemmed from corporate restructuring, could have been avoided had leadership taken a closer look at meaningful cost-saving measures. The severance package was minimal—$3,500 without a non-compete agreement or $9,000 with one—and was significantly reduced by taxation, leaving it inadequate for employees with less than five years of tenure. - **Compensation Practices:** Compensation was highly unfair, with minimal raises (as low as 1%) often tied to managerial favoritism rather than performance. Pay transparency within my team allowed us to address discrepancies directly with HR, which was necessary as our manager failed to advocate for fair pay and focused more on appearances than team support. - **Management Issues:** Tenured managers often displayed a sense of invulnerability, resisted constructive feedback (especially from women), and lacked accountability. This created a non-collaborative team dynamic where managers took credit for their teams' work without advocating for proper recognition or compensation.

Pros

Pay is higher than most companies in the Nacogdoches area. You get paid breaks and lunch. Pays overtime after working over 8 hours daily, pays overtime on Saturdays, and double pay on Sundays. Offers several health insurances and has a good 401k match

Cons

No work-life balance. Expect to work almost every weekend. You have quotas to meet hourly with ancient machines that are unpredictable and break down. There is a management and worker division. Terrible hiring practices and interviewing.

Pros

Whilst I was only here for 4.5 days the team/s and my direct manager were great.

Cons

I got sacked after riding down a no entry lane in the car park. I had assumed (wrongly) that as the bike parking was at the end of said lane I was able to scoot on up and park my bike. This morning after having parked my bike at 8:25, I headed to the office for my 8:30 meeting on my way I was stopped by a man on a phone near the main entrance to the building. Whilst he was on the phone he looked at me and asked if he could have a word. I asked if he was speaking to me and he confirmed. I said I have a 8:30 meeting. He then ignored this, pointed out the no entry sign and said I wasn’t to ride up there as drivers won’t see. I thought this was an odd thing to say as drivers tend to look where they are going. Anyway I said “ok I’ll go down that lane and around got it “ and left it at that. It was a two sentence interaction that resulted in him lodging a formal complaint and me being sacked. I’m not sure how they would’ve dealt with this had I been a permanent employee. I would like to highlight that at no point was I rude, or inappropriate it’s not in my nature to be so. I agreed with him said “got it” and left. It was also strange that the woman delivering the news to me about being sacked, called me into an office where her colleague sat down and she proceeded to barricade the door with a chair by wedging the chair under the door handle - really bizarre. I didn’t understand what she was doing at first just thought it was odd. I don’t know what type of reaction they were expecting but it was entirely unnecessary to barricade an office door (I’m 5,4” 40 year old woman). When I was told I my contract was being terminated I thought she was joking. I have no idea if I was sacked for riding down a no entry lane or if it’s because I agreed with what was said to me. To add to this, the man in the car park at no point identified himself or what he does for a job. I’m assuming he works in the health and safety team. Bearing in mind it’s 8:25 in the morning I’m in full body armoured leather in the summer time. There was nothing stopping him from getting my name and speaking with me later that morning. Or even just giving me a warning. But instead I was sacked.
