Pros

For young professionals starting out its a step in the door to work at any company around the world. Its a great place to take advantage of their training programs and grow as a business professional. Working at this company will produce opportunities that others who did not work in public accounting/big 4 will not have.

Cons

You will work more hours than you thought possible mostly with people who do not speak English. Clients will hate you automatically before they even meet you and you will be expected to work ridiculous hours because your part of the "team". It is impossible to make a career at this company unless you hate your family and don't want to have a life. No matter how long you stay at this company your workload will only increase, Partners work day and night and expect everyone to do the same.

Pros

Ernst & Young is a place that truly allows people to be who they are. They not only talk the talk about inclusiveness, but they walk the walk. I've been given access to senior executives at the firm as a staff, and opportunities to represent the firm and travel. As a staff person I've been asked to participate with non-profits that the firm sponsors which allows me to give back to my community. The work is generally interesting and always changing, and there's always someone to support you and your efforts. I believe that there's nothing I can't do at the firm if I really wanted to. You can't say that about many jobs.

Cons

Sometimes the hours are long but there are downsides to every job, and it's not any worse than any other firm in our business. Honestly, I'm hard pressed to think of downsides to working at Ernst and Young. I truly love what I do and can see myself working at the firm for the rest of my career.
