Pros

Ernst and Young has a good culture, where people are respected, in general there is a decent work life balance and people are nice to work with

Cons

The issue with Ernst and Young is that there is no performance linked bonus so overall the salary turns out to be less than the competitors, moreover growth options are limited, it takes ages to get promoted

Pros

Great experience. Good atmosphere to work in. Colleagues tend to be around your own age. Opportunity to travel if you go on a secondment to sister firm.

Cons

Feedback system is flawed and promotion decisions are not transparent. Long hours are required and a lot of travel is required.

Pros

Opportunity to work with New Jersey and Mumbai (which is as far as "Global" now goes)

Cons

- "Americanisation" of a Global firm - total loss of autonomy or independence at all levels - project managers who no longer have time to manage and have become "box - tickers" - enforced de-skilling e.g. multi-skilled staff have recently been forced to choose which role to dedicate themselves - true fear of challenging senior management. Whilst speaking truth to power was never common in this firm it is no longer a practice of which one even hears rumous
