Pros

Lots of flexibility when it comes to work-life balance, people are nice. It's in growth mode right now so pretty good job security.

Cons

Very "consensus-building." Read: political. Leadership is uninspired. No real direction or vision or purpose to the company. It feels like it just was spun out of Morgan Stanley and left with no reason to exist except to make money. Poor compensation compared to the competition. Process. It's like it's a small bank wanting to play big bank, so we get all the bureaucratic overhead without any of the benefits. While everyone is nice, it sometimes feels very homogenous. Everyone is a bro that never grew up and no real ambition (The exceptions make the rule).

Pros

It's a job with good benefits and the people I work with are very cool. I wish I could say the same about upper management whom are greedy shady and only seem to care about enriching themselves. Look greedy corporation up and you will see Discover.

Cons

Company is making a fortune off personal loans yet bonus's and incentive are weak and tied to so many metrics. All your incentive for the month is quite easy to miss entirely. Even though you had a big month and made Discover a lot of money. It's very easy to do a couple million a month in sales and not be compensated. It would also seem that Discover prefers to not pay it's hardworking employees incentive or bonus which really sucks. In this sales environment the more you sell often the less you make. Go figure.
