      Deloitte is a great name, but truly think about starting your career.

      Pros

      Riding the waves of the Deloitte brand. This company is a great place to tell people you work and many people find it impressive you work there.

      Cons

      Deloitte knows they are a good company, so leverages that to treat their employees poorly. It's the, "we know we are great, you should be honored to work for us" mentality. The time commitment employees must undertake is often relentless and it comes without ANY recognition and financial incentive. Additionally, the review process takes entirely too long and is not beneficial when it even comes. Clients are scare and work is few and far between. It's not the good ole days like it once was.

      Pros

      Great reputation, strong resume buidler. A few years in consulting really are equivalent to dog years. I was an MBA level consultant, pay was in the high 60's due to my not being from a target MBA school.

      Cons

      Working in Strategy consulting - road warrior lifestyle, no work life balance. Southern Deloitte offices tend to be very cliquish, its really important to be from a target school, partners and managers look out primarily for school alumni and people within their personal network - the entire environment is also extremely political

      Pros

      Good opportunitites to work for blue chip clients, but often in the wrong roles. Reasonable scope for promotion, but selection seems to be arbitrary, and not based on real facts. More of building a relationship wth those with the power to promote, rather then necessarily being competent. Heavy corporate sponsorship of charitable causes, but you have to become one of the Deloitte "Borg", dressed head to toe in "Green Dots" to get the cash. Management is good in areas, but patchy in others. Some shining stars, but others are mediocre at best. Principal route seems to be the rout for duffers, while partners are those with the business acumen.

      Cons

      Treated as one one of the many - a pool of resource rather then an individual.
