Great place for workaholics.

Pros

Good compensation, leadership opportunities, few boundaries. You rarely hear someone say, "That's not your job." Young, energetic work-force. Fast-paced environment. You will never be bored if you work here.

Cons

Too much focus on cost reduction. Understaffed, over-worked. Weak IT infrastructure hinders many customer experience efforts. Typical corporate environment does not foster creativity. Layoffs nearly every year. Typical bureaucratic hurdles and absolutely horrible on-line tools. Intranet site is the worst I've ever seen. Impossible to find any information, but easy to waste an hour trying.

Pros

Challenging work environment, Good people and fair compensation.

Cons

Extreme hero culture, depends on heavily on rock star performance than consistent tools and processes. Investments on long term successes albeit sometimes are made, very bad decisions create a knee jerk pull back. Things have not changed in that area for a long time. The sad part is that it manifests itself as impact to customers and employees.

Pros

Good pay, great people respect from customers. There are a lot of benefits in working for Dell. The travel, perks, etc. Generally well respected within the industry. It has gotten better once ASAP, Everdream, Silverback, etc were acquired...broadens our portfolio. Pay is good

Cons

Beaurocracy is smothering. Hard to get every one in different segments onto the same philosophical page. People were great socially, but a lot of red tape, sniping, back stabbing which was counter productive. Definitely need to grow through acquisition which has begun, but every time you think a "new" Dell is emerging, they revert to the same old 13 week transactional thought process
