Pros

Most customers/prospects are really interested to know more about Databricks technology; Customer obsession culture is authentic and every department helps you to give the best customer experience;

Cons

There are a lot of spaces for improvement in how the company decides the goals based on the Sales perspective (territory, quota, internal resources, spiffs, consumption vs commit). All these non-definitions take a long time every year which harms AE's strategy for the fiscal year. Also, there is no employee success working closely to understand all daily demands and all topics are discussed directly with your manager. The AE's career path or promotions are not clear, it depends on the engagement with other managers directly. Salary is not competitive in comparison with competitors.

Pros

Amazing brand; Every customer wants to learn about Lakehouse architecture & Databricks. Strong exec team: CEO and most founders come from academia and actually care about the company being successful long term. Strong exposure to cutting edge AI use cases. Depending on how long you stay, you could position yourself as an AI expect after working at a place like Databricks.

Cons

Management becoming obsessed with forecasting and starting to micro manage sales people as we get bigger.

Pros

Databricks is on the cutting edge of technology. The product is complex and there are lots of opportunities for growth. The culture is collaborative and I've been impressed with managers who want to understand and support my career goals. Leadership is very transparent. This is a high growth company - things change fast and there are growing pains as teams keep up - this is expected and hasn't been a negative for me. If you can adapt to change and are willing to adopt to fill in gaps where needed it's a great place to be.

Cons

There is no 401k match
