Pros

CPG had a worldwide presence in distributed power generation equipment, and strong technical and sales teams.

Cons

Various regional power generation companies were purchased by the corporate parent, who imposed many unrelated processes and unknowledgeable managers onto those businesses. The results are speaking for themselves with loss of market share, retrenchment and layoffs. Corporate is consolidating former regional elements into corporate HQ, which will likely result in further erosion. This is a shame as the corporation is well known and respected for it's original line of business, diesel automotive engines.

Pros

Was great in the past when entrepreneurial teams were given the ability to create value for customers and take ownership of their work and product lines.

Cons

Layoffs every year, hiring freezes, no opportunities to move positions unless you have special connections. 15% reduction in late 2015 and second reduction Feb. 2016 with more to come. Poor outlook in next couple of years. Look at the stock price and you will see the trend.

Pros

People here are some of the best coworkers you'll ever get. Truly enjoy working with 99% of people. Work life balance is good as long as you take advantage of it. Laid back environment. Company allows for career changes

Cons

Salary- once hired this company does not do a good job of keeping their employees competitive. Very non-transparent HR policies around compensation This division is the most neglected division by corporate in all aspect . Multiple levels of management and not enough people do work. Managers are not put through any rigorous selection process or training, which in turn puts direct reports in jeopardy Multiple layoffs have decreased morale and has never returned to prior state (2008 & earlier) Facilities from 1960 have not been renovated.
