Pros
Cummins had many great people to work with. Pay was very competitive and profit sharing was good during profitable years.
Cons
Cummins hires like crazy during booms and lays off like crazy during busts. New ideas were difficult to sell due to entrenched management and a somewhat stagnant workforce. Cummins was also a slow moving bureaucratic company like many similarly sized companies. I can think of numerous places that I would rather live than Columbus Indiana.
