Pros

Pays ok, and vacation time is good, and some of the people are nice

Cons

Work you like a dog. Their slogan should be work more for less money. HR stinks.

Pros

The people - everyone I've ever come across here is always willing to help with my inquiries Location - the proximity to Minneapolis proper and all the lively nature that Minnesota has to offer is pretty unbeatable, and if you live in the city you rarely hit traffic to and from Provides opportunities for paid community service Cummins is a hire-to-develop company - if you intern with them they already have a vested interest in keeping you Diverse workforce - it's pleasing to work for a company that values diversity and embraces inclusion

Cons

This entire industry (power generation) is in a slump for at least the next year Compensation could definitely be more competitive Work team morale seems to be down amidst relatively consistent lay off periods Facilities for engineers receive much less attention than they do for finance/business/marketing people

Pros

Cummins does a great job of promoting inclusiveness and involvement in their employees. The impact that Cummins has made on its community is far more evident than many other companies I have seen. For a first internship, my team did a great job helping me to experience different areas of the company that might be interesting to me for future employment opportunities. During my 10 week internship, there were a variety of events and resources to encourage career development for full-time workers and interns alike. I am definitely interested in returning for future internship roles.

Cons

Being such a broad company, especially for engineering roles, it can be difficult to narrow down what areas of the company are most interesting to you. As an intern, it was hard to keep up a steady supply of work to do
