I was so excited when I got the opportunity to work here, and I'm so disappointed. CrowdStrike has got to have the best marketing hype team around, because behind the scenes it's a bummer. The people on my team are what make this place tolerable, because most everything else has been a let down.
The benefits here are *terrible* for a company of this prestige. The 401k match is a joke, there is no tuition reimbursement, there is no funding for "outside" training or certifications. You mean to tell me a place like this doesn't promote and prioritize the training of its employees? If you want training, you pay for it yourself. We have billions of dollars for multiple acquisitions every year, but none for employee training. What an absolute scam.
Merit increases have been delayed every single year I've been here.
Don't expect to have any mobility in your role. You might have some vertical promotion within your specific job function, but if you ever decide you might want to try something else out at CS? Forget it. Even if you're well-qualified for another internal role, it seems there's a preference for outside hiring. There seems to be no benefit to already being a CrowdStriker when applying to internal roles. You'll basically live and die in the exact same job vertical until you leave the company.
Also, what's with this push for more and more hybrid roles? This was a remote-first company for well over a decade, but some of the more interesting roles now have some form of an on-site requirement. That's pretty stupid considering you'll hear George talk about the early days and why it was a remote-first company in order to attract and work with the best talent in the world. I guess we're just moving away from all our principals, now.
It seems like the only thing the executives talk about anymore is hitting some arbitrary number they reinvent every year for ARR. When I started, it was $10B ARR. Now, it's $20B ARR. Why not just eleventy trillion ARR?
This place went from one of the most hyped cybersecurity ventures of the last 20 years to just another place for suites.
