Good people, grim future

Pros

- Great, supportive, talented people - Still decent work/life balance

Cons

- Great, supportive, talented people are thrown out one after another - Work/life balance is threatened - Due to the new CEO's views and politics the company becomes more and more hostile to employees while demanding loyalty - HR and business partners behave like AI, giving meaningless scripted answers even to simplest questions. No, even worse than AI, you can get some actual information out of AI with a proper prompt - Every communication outside of the immediate team adds to the feeling of uncertainty and fear for the future - No more pay indexation

Pros

- Pay is decent in an above average COL Midwest college town - Work environment is collaborative and has open door policy of asking questions - AI adoption in workflow is highly encouraged/expected.

Cons

- RTO is not good. As of early 2026, you are required to come to the office 1x/week, soon will ramp up to 2x/week and 3x/week in 2027 - Layoffs - Business outlook is shakey -> layoffs
