Pros

Strong benefits and a generally positive, supportive culture The company genuinely cares about employee well-being, especially in the earlier years Good entry-level opportunities through internship and junior positions Diverse teams in many regions (outside of leadership)

Cons

After several years at the company, it’s evident the culture is shifting toward a more US-centric, corporate mindset Leadership is composed almost entirely of American executives, which is influencing the global culture and diluting the company's original European identity Internal growth is often unclear and heavily influenced by politics and visibility rather than performance or impact Senior employees receive limited investment in their development compared to junior hires The message of “be yourself at work” is slowly being replaced by a push to conform to a more rigid, top-down culture Constant structural and process changes are creating uncertainty and confusion across teams Product offering is complex and difficult to communicate, especially to new customers — language and taxonomy are too technical and unclear Over the past 2–3 years, the company has lost many high-quality employees, which raises concerns about long-term retention and morale The industry challenges ahead will likely make these internal issues more difficult to address

Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback. Your input on career development is very valuable to us as we are working hard to make career opportunities and development more accessible and meaningful for all. We care to empower all our employees to shape the future they want from day one - whether they're junior or more senior profiles - and that is why getting real feedback from the bottom up is so important. As for instilling more diversity in leadership, genuine inclusion is still a big part of who we are today and who we want to be tomorrow. While representation cannot be forced though, we believe we have a role to play as to building strong allyships among leadership and communities at Criteo to ensure everyone feels welcome, accepted, and proud of who they are. And so, we'll keep advocating for a diverse workforce at all levels of the company, not only because it's the right thing to do, but because we see diversity for what it truly is: A real creator of opportunities!

Pros

Mature company with clear job roles and responsibilities. Good benefits.

Cons

Very little room for upward mobility now that the company has reached maturity. Company claims to have values of Open, Together, Impactful. In Barcelona over the last 18 months we've seen multiple rounds of layoffs, more and more work expected of less and less well resourced teams. In that time I have found communication from senior leadership confusing, contradictory and misleading. I'm not sure that the company's proclaimed values have been followed very well at all during that time.

We regret your experience among us may not live up to your expectations. We thank you for sharing, as open feedback helps us identify real pain points and improve our way of doing things. We have doubled our efforts to diversify our career development plans, as witnessed by the latest addition of a coaching program to support employees' professional and personal growth. Like many companies in our field, the global economic landscape has impacted us, but we strive to keep the company going despite those uncertain times. We are grateful to you for sharing our journey all those years and encourage you to share your doubts and concerns with your managers or local people partner.

Strangled by Politics

Pros

-Opportunity to learn a lot through paid trainings and clever colleagues -Intelligent and like minded colleagues (strong hiring process at junior to lower management level) -WFH flexibility -Good benefits (Ticket restaurant, CIGNA healthcare) -Some good and trustworthy people in the management structure -Company is generally respectful of personal time and doesn´t demand late working etc

Cons

Infuriatingly inflexible processes for everything from product management, promotion and hiring and execution processes that are more restrictive than many of those in companies 10x the size. The close knit nature of some of the employees and crazy long processes mean the communication is a mess, you hear most important decisions "on the grapevine" weeks before they are ánnounced A small handfull of upper management are unbelievably distrustworthy. Politics is everything here, unfortunately it´s led to an extremely toxic culture of empty words, broken promises and needlessly cold hearted decisions. Company has tried to pivot away from relying on cookies by building a succession of products that don´t really meet market need over the last 3-4 years whilst the browser and app privacy changes mean the core product delivers less performance than in the past. Whilst some of these changes are outside the company´s control it means clients are rarely happy. The amount of people going on leave for burnout in this environment is quite staggering- (on a positive note the company is generally supportive of people taking leave for mental health).

Thanks for taking the time to submit your review. We're sincerely sorry to hear that you had a negative experience and that you didn't felt cared for as an employee. The experience you describe is far from what we want to offer. We are strongly convinced that employees wellbeing is a key element of success. We have kept investing in various wellbeing initiatives, from having the Workplace team running weekly Feelgood initiatives in all regions, to having an internal campaign on the importance of taking breaks or even offering mental health support through an external provider with up to 5 appointments with a Mental Heath professional. We wish you the best in your future endeavors, and to find the environment that will support your personal and professional growth. Thanks for the time spent together.
