Pros

Big name, prestige of working at one of the top publishing companies in the world. Interesting work, subject matter.

Cons

Senior management very often don't know what they're doing - the company is controlled very politically by the Newhouse family and the senior management, many of whom don't know how to successfully run a media company in the modern age, as evidenced by their inability to decide on a direction for their online, new media, non-print aspects of the business.
