Pros

The only positive is the name. Have Conde Nast on your resume and hiring managers will know that you've been to hell and back.

Cons

Conde Nast is not doing well anymore, and that's not a secret. I think the reason why they're doing so poorly is because the culture is completely outdated. Conde promotes a culture where people at the bottom are supposed to "fear" the people above them. I've seen people be yelled at and completely belittled. The work environment here is so unhealthy, and can turn even the most calm, laid back person into an anxious mess. There is no team mentality at Conde Nast. Most modern companies have an open, relaxed atmosphere where everyone is working towards the same goal. Not at Conde Nast. At Conde Nast the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Those at the bottom work 12 hour days without overtime, and those at the top get bonuses, vacations, etc. The only reason to work at Conde Nast is for the name, and honestly, that's not even worth much anymore. There was a point in time when Conde was the place to be, and that's just not true anymore.

Pros

absolutely. none. at. all. period.

Cons

If you are in sales, they will fire you in Nov/Dec to avoid paying bonuses owed. I did not get my Q4 and year end bonus. Human Resources protects management. There is constant restructuring/firing of people to maintain managements' high salaries. Management consists of former print publishers with no digital skills that are desperately holding on to their salaries. Only the truly horrible and nasty remain. If you must take a job there, sharpen your claws, trust no one, and don't sign a document that says you have to be employed thru 12/31 to collect a bonus.

Pros

Flexible Time Policy Standard hike

Cons

My strongest recommendation to anyone considering joining this company: I advise against it. Allow me to share my personal experience of over a year: This company, based in Bangalore and Chennai, falls short of expectations for a product-based organization. The absence of well-defined policies and a distinct company culture makes for a challenging work environment. Unfortunately, you may encounter individuals who exhibit unethical behavior and take advantage of others. I urge you to exercise caution and not be swayed solely by monetary incentives. Since it is privately owned, the company operates within a controlled environment, which can foster a mindset of cost-cutting at the expense of employee well-being. Engineering Managers and Product Managers have been promoted through luck rather than merit, resulting in a hostile atmosphere. Furthermore, the absence of VP-level presence on-site, with most situated in the US or UK, leads to a lack of accountability. The support team, including the Head, HR, and VP, appears to be disconnected from the day-to-day happenings within the company. On a positive note, the CEO, CTO, and IT support team exhibit professionalism and competence. VP-level employees seem to be excessively occupied with trivial matters, while managers perpetuate favoritism, racism, and office politics. Regrettably, only a small fraction of senior developers possess the required skills, while the rest struggle. Overall, the majority of employees endure unfavorable circumstances. Please take these factors into consideration before making a decision.
