Pros

Having Conde Nast or one of the publication names on your resume looks great. Smart colleagues overall. Cafeteria in the building is a bonus since taking a real lunch break is frowned upon.

Cons

Long hours and no consideration for employees personal lives or work/life balance. Benefits presented in employment offer were taken away or restricted after I began. Perks are few and far between on the marketing side (you're at the bottom of the pecking order).

Pros

Great resources, perks and talent. You will learn at this company and gain valuable experience. There are also great perks like paid parking, upscale office space and discounts. Summer Fridays are nice too.

Cons

You better have friends on your side because co-workers on your team could gang up on you and get you fired. I've seen it happen many times there. Also, depending on who you work for, you better be prepared to give more of your personal time to your job. You will always be working, and you will carry your job stress with you 24/7. They are struggling with digital, and they don't seem to know how to properly train salespeople. It's not a bad place to work for a couple of years, but make sure you have friends on your management staff because eventually they could turn against you in an ugly way.

Pros

Condé lets you work with really great brands. It's prestigious and great for your resume. Pay is decent and there isn't a ton of micromanagement. Summer Fridays are awesome and you have a chance to attend some super-chic events.

Cons

There is a ton of politics in the tech section. If you aren't on Ed's team and he doesn't like you he may starve for resources. It's taken them two and a half year to develop their piece of crap CMS and there is still not end in sight to the project. The new CDO is a stuffed shirt. Nobody ever gets promoted or a pay bump. If you start to get frustrated it's time to hit the eject button. The NYT will hire you an pay more.
