      Legacy (A.K.A. Old School) Telecom Leadership

      Pros

      Global reach. Local and regional sales leaders for the most part are great leaders. Employees are wonderful at the field level and loyal to a fault.

      Cons

      Executive leadership at top completely out of touch with the field org. Many have an ego the size of China and while brilliant, if it isn't their idea it's a bad idea. No clue how a sales org should be run. Lots of politics in the sales org. The Enterprise leaders are all about personal growth and how to get ahead and the senior leaders of Global Sales let's the Service Provider team run all over them and are quite passive-aggressive. Will agree with you to your face then let you go after the fact. The SLT is a very old school thinking group that doesn't't like change. Little to no investment into the people. Lots of talk of change with little to show for it. Company doesn't make its numbers, you will get layoffs every single time unless you're an insider. Seemed to make great strides in bringing in leaders who were massive change agents with TE acquisition then dumped them when they realized it required leadership actually change. Old school leaders old school future.
