      Pros

      It's better than being unemployed. My company was outsourced to Cognizant Tech Solutions, and we had to take their job if offered. Not really a fair deal but with tody's economy I had no choice. They are at least paying us more than we were making, but I wonder how long we'll actually be retained.

      Cons

      I'll be replaced in 6 months. According to others with inside information on Cognizant Tech Solutions, they will keep us a short time after they take over, but then will let us go and replace us with workers from India. Wish there was a better way to do business.

      Pros

      The work culture! Totally chilled out! The informal way of addressing superiors. The transparent leadership as well as evaluation process. The young people. The way everyone gets together to celebrate any event. The way sprots and other activities are encourage and not just work. The way community service is taken seriously.

      Cons

      The evaluation of employees is based on the number of years they have worked in the company rather than their true capabilities. Too many mediocre people who cant even speak proper english are hired which is spoiling cognizant's image Lack of opportunities for young and motivated people. Salary is something which everyone complaints about as it is not up to the market standards.

      Pros

      Great brand name and a place to learn the industry. You get exposure to a lot of top clients working on high level, challenging projects. As a brand name, Cognizant can open a lot of doors and is highly well respected in a fast growing industry. You work with interesting, smart people from many different cultures.

      Cons

      Politics, lack of control for one's future, feeling out of loop and lack of organization. The feeling is that there's a lot run by the seat of the pants. The good news is that it's decentralized. The bad news is that it's decentralized and you feel as though you're on an island except when working on a team project. The company has become this way due to their tremendous business success and rapid growth, so one cannot expect to have the same "family" feel as it was years ago.
