Pros

WFH provide some flexibility (to make up for very heavy workload)

Cons

Cisco Sr. Leadership continued to make really bad hiring, strategic, and tactical decisions as related to Cloud. It obviously lost the race on SDN, Cloud to Amazon and Microsoft. Its strategy of laying off people annually to cut cost is obvious the wrong strategy. It really kills the morale within the company, divides the people (millennial vs 40+'s.) Also it is a complete mess of bureaucracy among high and middle-management and a lack of advancement opportunities are stifling innovation.

Pros

great benefits, work life balance.

Cons

Acquisitions are frequently abandoned after few years as non strategic - which raises the question on the process how due diligence was carried out during evaluation of the acquisition Annual Layoffs in Aug-Sep time frame every year. Executives are focussed in making wall street happy at the cost of customer and employee satisfaction Cloud Initiative was a flop and the company has No cloud or analytics strategy while AWS and Azure continue to execute and grow. Top Heavy - everyone is a leader or visionary while there is no one to do the actual work

Pros

Good cafeterias -- with both healthy choices and not-so-much. Some nice buildings, although the nicer buildings have smaller cubicles.

Cons

Cisco is an engineer-centric society, much to its own detriment. Cisco had an HR department website instead of new-employee orientation. Despite the steady stream of complaints from employees about the user hostility of the internal HR website, Cisco persisted in forcing its employees to rely on a highly unreliable internal HR website, much to the frustration of everyone involved. Cisco management seemed hell-bent on working its employees days, nights, and weekends -- all the while chanting the Work-Life Balance buzzwords as hypocritical propaganda. Other companies work hard to instill and encourage and maintain mutual respect so that each and every employee, from board room to mail room engage with kindness and respect. Not Cisco. Horrendous coffee.

Hi there, thank you for your review. Cisco does actually have a new-employee orientation, I went through it myself! In addition to the website HR offers many other resources, including a hotline for all HR inquiries. We also stand by our Work-Life Balance benefit, but it's up to each individual to make manage their time so that they can use it. We're very sorry that you did not have a good experience and will certainly take your feedback into serious consideration.
