Pros

Great company to use a stepping stone for a better job outside! Other Pros: RSUs are good, ESPP is standard, company has a diverse product portfolio that is potentially well-suited for economic challenges, senior management seems okay *I haven't paid too much attention to them* Honestly, I do truly believe that Cisco has the potential to be a great company that is able to attract top talent in Silicon Valley. However, the company needs to reevaluate middle management. Investing in management training is the bare minimum and they're currently are doing that, but the company really needs to do more. For example, promoting individuals based on their leadership qualities and not just their technical knowledge and years of experience. Cultivating a more progressive and open-minded culture could go a long way in improving employee satisfaction and retention.

Cons

Disappointed by: dental and vision options, have to pay to use company gym, a lot of teams are starting to require "return to office" which is going to hurt the company as they are also trying to downsize their real estate, poor laptop options if you need a non-MacBook. Please take all high ratings and company awards lightly, as Cisco does push it's current employees to skew the results. Additionally, I've seen many younger individuals leave due to unhappiness which does not get reflect in any reviews.

Pros

Flexibility. This job is very flexible. Work-Life balance is extraordinary. To the point where most of us work 15 hours a week or less, or from the car. Health, 401k Benefits are great.

Cons

Diversity and Inclusion is the highest priority in the company. Some might see this as a Pro, but let me explain. Unqualified people have been shuffled around the company into leadership roles during and after COVID, some have grown to be successful, while many have failed completely, which casacades and causes multiple leadership failures down to the engineers. Many great engineers have left due to the failures of our recently promoted leadership. ESG is such a high focus that our products are failing simple quality checks. We have had many customers leave Cisco products for Palo Alto or other vendors simply because our products are garbage now, and the TAC support is atrocious. Be prepared for an annual layoff here, generally every year there is a fat trimming movement where useless roles are removed, allowing the folks to transfer to other parts of the company, where they are utterly useless. Customer Experience is a nightmare., where the Customer is put 2nd, and profits are put 1st. CX BCS contracts are the worst thing for delivery - nonsense deliverables that the customer does not have any desire for. It's purely a moneygrab by Cisco

Pros

Cisco has so much to offer. They put a lot of emphasis on diversity and inclusion and they really seem to mean it. They offer stretch assignment opportunities, paid time off to volunteer, lots of seminars/presentations on various topics. Great benefits and PTO too.

Cons

Haven't found any yet, really.
