Pros

No need to sell as you simply need to rely on the partner community to do all the work. Cisco management simply sits around all day and scrutinizes salesforce.com. Meetings everyday over your forecast so they can push the number up to the top. Sell without regard to the partner or customer.

Cons

Nothing matters but your forecast which will be analyzed hourly. But even if you hit your hourly, weekly, monthly and quarterly number chances are that another 5,000 to 6,000 empolyees will be terminated without regard on August 1st.

Hi there. It sounds like your concerns are worth brining to your team. As someone who has been with Cisco for 10+ years we we value your perspective, however, we must disagree with your statement about employees not working. We have very hard workers at Cisco and recognize their contributions.

Cons

- poor job security (layoffs are frequent) - very stressful culture - little room to grow - lots of politics - raises are rare - bonuses are not great - Working over the 40 hours expected with no over time or you will for sure be Layed off. - Culture is competitive - demotivating - no innovation

Pros

Flexible timings and WFH. Cutting edge routers and optical technology. You can brag about the work and product impact.Market leaders currently.

Cons

Bad management.unrealistic pressures and expectations.groupism.manager maintains a pet group under him . If u are not in the group no matter what good work you do gets unnoticed.customers are too touchy and literally blackmail openly about cancelling orders if some trivial bug is not fixed within time. This shakes up the whole management structure from director to apply pressure and get work done no matter what. It's ruthless .Software tools are open source and very difficult to debug as debug infra is not taken seriously. No hikes at all.Promotions only if you are in the above pet group

This sounds like an uncommon situation and we're sorry to hear about your concerns. Seeing you are a current employee, we encourage you to reach out to HR about your concerns, and/or look into different roles at Cisco--we can guarantee that most teams are not like this!
