Pros

Nice place to work, but so are a lot of other places. The compensation is amazing. The initial job offers are almost impossible to turn down. Most employees are highly motivated about delivering new, top quality products to the customers. If you have the fortune to get on the right product team you really care about, your drive and commitment will help shape the solution from day one. You can focus on your job with minimum administrative distractions. Huge bonus in being able to spend the majority of your day writing quality code, less the distractions of administrative paperwork, irrelevant meetings etc.

Cons

Mobility in the company seems slow to average. Long hours in return for little merit and recognition. Probably due to a glut of middle management in the food chain perhaps? May result in a lot of managerial red tape in project approval process. Team creativity can sometimes stagnate as result.

Pros

World renowned company, everyone knows the name. Many extremely intelligent, knowledgeable employees. Numerous training courses available to further career options both within and outside of Cisco Brilliant IT infrastructure: Great support, technical resources second to none Certain benefits: Free drinks, good medical plans, good retirement funding plans

Cons

Salary below industry standards, grading and salary increases are awarded in a staggered manner (promoted first, then payed more "at some stage") Growing trend towards extreme frugality is becoming bothersome: Benefits are slowly being taken away in various theatres across the globe (Asia Pacific reducing bottle waste - no more juices or bottled water)

Pros

You get valuable experience that is needed in field.

Cons

The employees lounge doesn't have much food in it, and that makes me upset
