Pros

At Cisco you can find a great team of people to work with, people who are committed to making their products the best, people with a lot of integrity. Cisco offers some of the best benefits of any high-tech company in the world, and they encourage people to explore opportunities within the company that can help you further your career.

Cons

At Cisco you may find your manager stretching your limits to complete tasks. Although you can find satisfaction in breaking your perceived limits to workload, you may find yourself working weekends to keep up. In its effort to streamline operations, Cisco has made some aspects of working at Cisco very impersonal. For example, the use of Telepresence in some building lobbies means that you do not see a person in the lobby when you enter and exit the building. When you start a job at Cisco, you do not interact with anyone in Human Resources (HR) because the process is automated over the Internet. When you leave a job, you do not have any interaction with HR.

Pros

- Flexible working hours: it does not matter when or how long you work as long as the job gets done - Work from home: you are given the flexibility of working from anywhere as long as what you are asked for is done properly - Good benefits

Cons

- HR is inexistent: they never answer employee inquiries, never answer phone, email or voice mail left to them by employees - HR avoids answering any questions with regards to salary increase, grades.... - Managers find it smart to pay as little as possible to employees and not promote them - Too tactical and focused on the commits of every week - You will close to never get a salary increase or promotion: there is always a freeze - Finance and HR do their best to cut benefits and salaries if possible - HR keeps reminding you that you are lucky to work for Cisco - Unfair in terms of equal employment opportunity: a lot of new positions are not announced and are arranged by managers to be taken by certain people before you ever hear about any of them

Pros

Working with many smart people in challenging environment, which help people to grow technically . There are many positive aspects of corporate cultures including customer satisfaction and information sharing.

Cons

Now it is too slow in terms of technology leadership and too much politics. So many pressure among senior engineers to get promoted.
