      A weird middle ground

      Pros

      Consistent work to do, great team, mostly email based.

      Cons

      Had to fight for hybrid work schedule that was in place at hire that executive management decided would remove companywide. Despite being underwriters with authority statements, we are treated like UA’s and processors by other departments. Blame for delays or error is usually placed on endorsement underwriters when the fault was on another department or person entirely. Position pays less than a standard underwriter.

      Cons

      Chubb's internal data systems and data tables are a hot mess ever since the Chubb and Ace merge. They fired all their IT people and outsourced everyone to India. The Ace and Chubb data systems and sources were never merged properly and it's been 10 years since the merge. It's impossible to do anything useful or get anything done with the incredibly poor data quality. For that reason, if you are a data scientist, stay far away from this company unless you want everyday to be a constant headache.
