Pros

Every building on campus has a Mother's Room for women who need to pump breast milk. This is awesome. They are also very flexible about work hours and working from home. This is great for working mothers. If a kid is sick and can't go to school, you can work from home.

Cons

The company is so huge that you can sometimes feel overlooked or neglected. When I started working there, nobody knew who my manager was supposed to be. I felt like I had to figure everything out on my own.

Pros

Levels do not matter when it comes to adding input or suggestions/comments/concerns. I have worked in several dept's at Capital One and you truely are treated like an equal no matter if you are entry level, or a Senior level. Capital One gives all its associates the opportunity to learn and grow from those at a higher level and is very patient and encouraging when it comes to personal growth and development.

Cons

The performance management cycle is bittersweet. If you perform well, you are rewarded highly. But, if you work in a large department that means you can get lost in the mix of other associates you are calibrated with at the end of the year. Its hard to stand out and shine if you work within a large group of people at the same level.

Pros

Some of the best and smartest people I've worked with in terms of sheer analytic skills and ability. The West Creek complex has lots to make the working area fresh and enjoyable - albeit a bit short of space.

Cons

Make no mistake - the place is politics to the nth degree, and not in a favorable way. If you're looking for candor and transparency in leadership this in not the place to look. I'm not saying that all are vile, but I would say that there is an 'old guard' in mid-upper management that has lost its way. And the self-interest of these folks severely limits the ability of the company to be the best. People are pawns, and contractors... well they're something less, but at least provide cover.
