Pros

Awesome benefits. The starting PTO is amazing. My manager is great. There's a reason why the CEO has over 90% approval rating. The company really cares about it's associates. Ignore the other reviews which claim that you get fired for anything. Those reviews were made by employees who simply didn't try hard enough. If you're not performing up to standard, then your manager WILL be there to help you develop your skills. However, if you're still not meeting minimum standards, then you're let go. That's how it is in EVERY company. Capital one literally gives you more than 3 months to improve. If you can't show the slightest bit of improvement in more than 3 months, the job just isn't for you. Favoritism is there, but there's always favoritism in every company. Make yourself known, be outgoing, talk to everyone you meet in the lobby during your breaks. The managers are all nice and friendly and are more than happy to stop what they're doing to answer any question you may have. When it's not busy, there will be between 8 to 10 minutes between calls. Another positive is that you get to learn a lot about fraud in general and how it affects card holders. You primarily get calls from people with high credit limits (meaning they're pretty rich), so it's always nice striking up a conversation with them about their job or business. You may even get to speak to a famous person too.. I recently got an incoming call from the co-producer of "Resident Evil: Extinction" in regard to his declined transaction. Pretty cool.

Cons

The job itself can get a bit mundane; especially if you keep getting the same types of calls throughout the day. The pay is not great. The potential bonuses are good, but even if you make top bonus every month, the overall yearly pay still isn't great. Like the other reviews say, the room for advancement is very slim. If you're not networking and not keeping your stats up every month, don't expect to be promoted. A big negative is having to fix the errors that the over-seas agents make on a constant basis. Nothing is worse than getting a call from someone who didn't receive their card after they requested it 3 weeks ago, only to find out the over-seas agent forgot to request it.
