      Pros

      The benefits are great, the option to WFH is awesome too, the pay is pretty competitive and Cap 1 truly seems to care about their customers. If only they cared as much about what their employees feel as well.

      Cons

      Not a lot of power to make the decisions we feel are appropriate. Also the time restrictions are ridiculous. We are not in elementary school anymore. I shouldn't feel like I can't go the bathroom when I NEED to, not when I'm told to. Also, when I feel I need to work on an issue for a customer, per their motto, "Do the right thing", I should have the power to do so.

      Pros

      Very smart peers. Business folks are also very smart. Only reason I still work here is the quality of the work force. Good benefits and overall work environment. very good training resources. Good technology exposure throughout the stack.

      Cons

      very aggressive agenda and timelines Work life balance non existent in many cases. Aggressive plan for employee involuntary attrition (10-12% every year).. regardless of intake of people. hoping to make up for it by hiring folks who are extremely difficult to find. Extremely competitive workplace even though its not made obvious employees are self focused and hesitant to share knowledge due to aggressive performance management agenda introduced by management. Very difficult to get information and co-operation even from peers.

      Management is clueless, micromanage you have to kiss butt just to move up or you have to know someone. Stuff changes every 2 minutes. Management 90 percent of the time do not know whats going on. Management is quick to give coachings, but do not fully understand situations themselves. They are extremely UNORGANIZED... Glad that home loans is going out of business. The quicker we are out of there the better..
