Pros

Decent pay, very easy to get promoted if you lack any skill and just know the right way to signal that you are doing way more work than you actually are doing on a daya to day basis; Good new hire program from a social standpoint

Cons

Very hit or miss; If you get placed in a bad team, there will not be enough work. You will not develop any skills. You will get punished for having any views different than the herd. Obscure belief that "everyone produces the same amount of work" and the only thing that matters for promotions is anything besides your actual job. Work life balance is too good in the sense that 50% of the employees work about 5-10 hours a week total. Its great if youre a parent with 4 kids and dont care about growing your career. Otherwise, it sucks

Pros

Seems like if you work here, there aren't any expectations of you to perform. Anybody can "do the job" and you can pretend all the way through.

Cons

Where do I even start: 1. Bad pay 2. Terrible promotion criteria 3. Jennifer Jackson is a joke. Capital One Canada has not grown since she took over. She has been focusing on her own brand and career growth instead of the organization.

Pros

- Great compensation and benefits package (therapist coverage went up to $3000 this year!). - Some managers are very invested in your development and learning. - Lots of friendly and smart people, the open culture makes it easy to work with each other and make friends.

Cons

- Your experience varies GREATLY depending on your manager, there are some truly useless managers that somehow continue to get promoted into more senior roles. Lots of nepotism and favouritism exhibited by senior leaders. - HR has no idea how to proactively ensure fairness; certain groups are given random competitive salary increases while others are left behind. Significant salary gaps between job families. - Nothing exciting happening in Canada, very difficult to get things done if you do have good ideas. Leadership tries to get you excited about the future by rolling out a brand strategy that is unrealistic and won't change anything, or by saying they have aspirations to grow but with no specifics on how. - Extremely high turnover (at least 50% of the people you started with will be gone within 2 years) yet leadership refuses to acknowledge the problem and make changes that results in higher morale and happiness.
