Pros

You can work for very different clients, interesting projects and technologies. Good place to get experience.

Cons

No cons if you know and like what consultancy is.

Pros

Nothing significant. But will pay for your travel

Cons

All cons only. This company is what I call pimp and prostitute company. This is just an agency that recruits engineers and sends them to client locations where you are left on your own without any support from the company. Expect no chances of promotion or career progression. Every time they will promise you the world and deliver you nothing. Altran UK is the worst place to work with worst leadership and worst employee engagement. Senior managers make a fortune with company funded land-rovers but all engineers are paid penny's. They are managing a dog and pony show in front of the clients trying to get business often lying about their capabilities. Stay far from this company. Also remember that once you get in, it is impossible to get out as they have a 3 months notice period and no firm will wait for 3 months for you.

Pros

It is easy to get hired, but keep in mind that you will be exploited. This company is in the body renting business and gets passive income by placing "consultants" at their clients. These "consultants" do exactly the same job as a full-time employee for the client company, except they have no rights and can be fired at little notice or cost.

Cons

I have worked there and have to say that most of the stories i had heard about them are true. Contracts are gained by placing spies inside client corporations, making friends with decision makers and bribing influencial people into lobbying for them. They have become infamous for their underhandedness, ill-treating of employees, dodgy business practices (sometimes blatantly illegal) and hiring concubines as business managers, among other shady dealings. If you are about to sign for them, think twice.
